The Dallas Cowboys have plenty of things to figure out right now.
Mike McCarthy’s job is reportedly in jeopardy, which is no surprise after yet another postseason meltdown.
The Cowboys suffered arguably the toughest playoff defeat in franchise history, and that has become a worrisome trend.
That’s why it’s not a surprise to see multiple people speculating about Bill Belichick taking the reins of America’s Team.
Then again, those rumors have also been met with some skepticism, as regardless of Belichick’s good relationship with Jerry Jones, the Cowboys’ owner isn’t one to give up control easily.
Even despite that, NFL analyst Craig Carton believes Belichick is still the greatest coach in NFL history and would be more than enough to lead the Cowboys to at least the NFC Championship Game:
“Bill Belichick is the greatest coach in NFL history,” Carton said. “Bill Belichick coaching the Dallas Cowboys, they’re a lock to be in the NFC Championship game.”
"Bill Belichick is the greatest coach in NFL history. IS. Bill Belichick coaching the Dallas Cowboys, they're a lock to be in the NFC Championship game."

That’s fair, and it’s also fair to state that the Cowboys have a much better roster than the New England Patriots have had since Tom Brady left.
However, Belichick has only been to the playoffs once in the four years since Brady left, and he hasn’t won a single playoff game.
Some believe Belichick’s ways and tactics are outdated.
His team’s defenses continue to be elite, but he’s not going to change his ways at this point in his career, and neither will Jerry Jones.
It’s difficult to expect different results by doing the same things over and over, and that’s a lesson these two NFL legends haven’t seemed to have learned yet, so perhaps they’re not the best match.
