Where Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh coaches next year will be one of the biggest questions answered this offseason.
He could return to Ann Arbor and continue as Michigan’s head coach or go back to the NFL for the first time since 2014 and try to win a Super Bowl – something that evaded him the last time he coached in the NFL.
There are a few head coach openings this offseason that could entice Harbaugh, but ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on “The Pat McAfee Show” this week that the Los Angeles Chargers are in hot pursuit of Harbaugh this winter.
“I believe the Chargers are targeting Jim Harbaugh to be their guy,” Schefter said. ” … The Chargers, I believe, want him. I believe that [Harbaugh] wants [Chargers quarterback] Justin Herbert. And now we’ll see if the two sides can sit down and make it happen.”
"Jim Harbaugh has done everything that you could want to do in Ann Arbor & he loves Michigan..
I also think that he wants to win a Super Bowl & there's some attractive options..

The Chargers have been one of the most disappointing teams over the past three seasons despite a plethora of talented players on the roster.
They made the playoffs just once over the past three years with Brandon Staley as head coach, which is likely a reason why Los Angeles fired Staley before the end of the 2023 season.
Harbaugh would bring a new element to the Chargers, one that turned the San Francisco 49ers into a Super Bowl contender in two years before they lost to the Baltimore Ravens in 2012.
It sounds as though interest is mutual between Harbaugh and the team, but there is a lot of time left before either side makes a decision about their respective futures.
