Cedric Mullins is one of the most exciting young players in all of baseball and is one of many reasons why the Baltimore Orioles have emerged as a sneaky postseason contender.
After a breakout season in 2021, he helped the Orioles improve from 110 losses to 83 wins as they fell just a few games short of their first postseason berth since 2016.
“The Entertainer,” as he is affectionately known, enjoyed a 30-homer season in ’21 and followed it up with 16 more home runs in 2022.
Since the start of the ’21 season, Mullins has the highest WAR of any center fielder in baseball, as was shown on MLB Network this morning.
On Twitter, the Orioles responded to that with a message of their own, saying “In this house, we stan Cedric Mullins.”

This is a pretty strong message of support from the Orioles.
But it’s easy to see what the team loves about him.
Over the past two seasons, he has a WAR that even eclipses that of Mike Trout, who is widely considered one of the top players in all of baseball.
The 28-year-old might just be one of the more underrated stars in all of baseball.
Other players on the list courtesy of MLB Network include Bryan Reynolds, Brandon Nimmo, and Byron Buxton.
Clearly, Mullins is emerging into a superstar and has the potential to help bring the Orioles back to prominence.
He’s earned a Silver Slugger Award, as well as an All-Star nod.
But the Orioles have made perfectly clear how they feel about their star.
