The Baltimore Orioles have a decision to make regarding one of the top players in their organization.
That is former first-overall pick and the top prospect in baseball, Jackson Holliday.
He is only 20 years old, but he has dominated the minor leagues throughout his short pro career.
This spring training, many people felt Holliday was competing for a spot on the Opening Day roster.
He has earned the right to be with the club based on his performance.
Holliday has given it his all this spring and that should be exactly what the Orioles wanted to see.
As shared by Talkin’ Baseball, Holliday beat out an infield single on Tuesday.
It was a play that we would not see many players beat out in spring training.

Holliday understands that he is fighting for a spot and showing consistent effort is important.
It is the little things like this that should make the Orioles thrilled.
Holliday has the potential to be a true five-tool player.
We have seen almost no deficiencies in his game throughout his minor league career.
Last season, the Orioles won 100 games and were the top seed in the American League.
They made significant improvements this offseason, acquiring star pitcher Corbin Burnes.
But, there is no denying they are a young team that lacks experience.
We saw that last year in the postseason.
The Orioles snuck up on teams last year.
That will not be the case as we enter 2024.
