The Baltimore Orioles have a plethora of quality options to use in the infield.
There, they have reigning AL Rookie of the Year Gunnar Henderson and solid glovemen Kolten Wong, Ramon Urias, and Jorge Mateo.
But they also have excellent young talent in Jordan Westburg, Connor Norby, Colby Mayo, and the best prospect in all baseball: Jackson Holliday.
The No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft, Holliday is making a case to be included on the O’s Opening Day roster with his spring performance.
Up to Tuesday, he wasn’t lighting the world on fire, with a .235/.278/.412 line in six games.
But Tuesday was a much better day, one in which he got to show one of his best tools: speed.

The league’s official site posted a video of a spring training at-bat from Holliday.
He sent the ball to the center field wall, showing his power, and then when the fielder couldn’t make the catch, he raced toward third base showing some impressive wheels.
It’s part of an impressive overall package that includes elite bat-to-ball skills, developing power, and excellent plate discipline.
In four minor league levels ranging from Single-A to Triple-A, Holliday was brilliant: he hit .323/.442/.499 with 12 homers, 24 stolen bases, and a .941 OPS.
He has it all, and has a chance to make the Opening Day roster if he keeps improving his spring numbers.
He still has time to do that, and Tuesday was a great showing for him.
Even if he is in Triple-A to open the year, you can be sure we will see him at some point in 2024.
The kid is for real.
