The Brooklyn Nets are in a pseudo-rebuilding phase right now.
To be clear, a major roster change isn’t expected in the months ahead for the Nets but there will be some big alterations for the team before next season begins.
They will still have the same players but the team will perform in a different, more functional and cohesive way when it’s all said and done.
Instead of making changes to the players on the roster, the Nets are making changes to the way they pursue team building.
"Do they want to be part of this? Are they motivated by something that's not good for the whole team here? Those are questions we have to ask ourselves and the players that we want to bring back."

Speaking about the team and the players on it, General Manager Sean Marks has some words about the spirit and attitude of those in Nets uniforms.
“Do they want to be part of this? Are they motivated by something that’s not good for the whole team here? Those are questions we have to ask ourselves and the players that we want to bring back.”
What is Marks talking about here?
He’s speaking about finding a focus and common goals for the team.
Focused As A Unit
If the Nets hope to put this rough season behind them and become better, they will need to do it as a team.
They cannot just be “Kevin Durant‘s team” or “Kyrie Irving‘s team” or “Ben Simmons’ team”.
Instead, they will need to work as an actual unit and learn how to complement each other, communicate well, and achieve their goals.
The team has some of the biggest names in the league right now but they still feel like they are lacking an identity.
Fixing this will go a long way to making the Nets work as they should.
The potential for greatness is there but they have some work to do.
