Both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving have been with the Brooklyn Nets for a few seasons now and the results have been decidedly mixed.
Yes, they have had some postseason success but they haven’t reached the NBA Finals and they obviously haven’t won a championship either.
Make no mistake: that was the plan for this team when the front office landed both of these All-Stars.

The team is going through a major change right now, after the firing of head coach Steve Nash and the upcoming hiring of Ime Udoka, formerly of the Boston Celtics.
NBA expert and analyst Adrian Wojnarowski opened up about the big shakeup on the team and what it means for the future.
He was very blunt about Udoka’s hiring, saying, “this is probably the last-ditch effort to make this [Nets team] work.”
Therefore, if Udoka is hired and the team still meanders, struggles, and falls short, you can expect to hear the sound of lit dynamite as a blow-up of the Nets becomes inevitable.
The Last Chance For Brooklyn
If the team isn’t able to win with Durant, Irving, Ben Simmons, and other stars with the new leadership of Ime Udoka, then the team probably should be deeply examined and changed.
It seems obvious that Durant won’t complain about being traded away if this season isn’t much better than the last.
As for Irving, most reports also say that he’s eager to depart from the team in the summer, likely to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Sometimes the best of intentions and the greatest rosters don’t work for a team and this might be another example of that.
Time is ticking for the Nets and the next few months will be pivotal for the team.
