The Baltimore Orioles enjoyed a surprisingly good season compared to recent years in 2022.
Led by young stars Gunnar Henderson, Adley Rutschman, Cedric Mullins, and Austin Hays, the team won 83 games after a 110-loss season in 2021 and finished just three games behind the Tampa Bay Rays for the final American League Wild Card spot.
So naturally, there is a lot of excitement around the team heading into the 2023 season.
Their young stars will be more seasoned, and the team also made a few key moves to strengthen its roster.
This morning, Jon Morosi stopped by MLB Network to discuss the outlook for the Orioles in 2023.
.@jonmorosi speaks on the excitement in Baltimore heading into 2023 and how the Orioles stack up in the loaded AL East.

Morosi stated that he believes the Orioles are a legitimate postseason contender in 2023, and not because of any of the additions they made this offseason, even the trade for left-hander Cole Irvin.
The MLB analyst talked about the team’s prospects and was very high on players such as Henderson, Grayson Rodriguez, DL Hall, and Jackson Holliday.
Morosi even went as far as to say that the Orioles might have the best farm system in all of baseball.
But additions such as the trade for Irvin and the signings of Kyle Gibson, Adam Frazier, and Mychal Givens should also help them.
They have been relatively quiet this winter, but because of their farm system and a few frugal additions, they appear to be in position to contend again.
Morosi also predicted that if the Orioles are in a similar position at the trade deadline as they were in 2022, they might add some pieces rather than sell.
