When someone eventually writes a book about the 2022 offseason of the Brooklyn Nets, there will be quite a few chapters about Kyrie Irving.
Irving wasn’t the biggest headache the Nets suffered this summer but he certainly didn’t make life easy on them.
Amidst Kevin Durant demanding a trade from the team, Irving was also angling to leave, according to inside reports.

But that’s all behind them now, apparently.
Irving was spotting in the Nets practice gym, looking trimmed, healthy, and ready to play.
Fans of the Nets are hoping that Irving, Durant, and the rest of the team finally become the playoff contenders they were promised to be.
Irving Engaged
On paper, the Nets should be one of the best teams in the East, if not the entire NBA.
With Irving, Durant, and Ben Simmons on the roster and Steve Nash coaching, Brooklyn should strike fear into the hearts of other teams.
But they are known as a dysfunctional mess of great talent that doesn’t deliver.
However, that may change in the upcoming season.
If the team remains healthy and together, they could finally have a blockbuster season that leads deep into the playoffs.
But it is important to remember that the Nets could be dealing with an Irving trade next summer.
The Los Angeles Lakers are already getting ready to woo Irving away in the summer of 2023, which means we may be experiencing some serious deja vu one year for now.
Brooklyn’s front office is hoping a good season will convince Irving to stick around and keep building the team up.
Therefore, a lot is riding on 2022-23.
