The Brooklyn Nets and Miami Heat met on Thursday night for a preseason game that garnered a lot of attention.
Attention was given not only because these are two of the best teams in the East (in theory) but also because it was the first time fans got to see Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Kyle Lowry, Jimmy Butler, and others after months of the offseason.
Two of those stars shared a very interesting moment that has people talking.

In the second quarter, Durant and Lowry got very close and had a conversation that didn’t seem to be about basketball.
The two players, who have known each other for years now, were chatting near the free-throw line as they awaited the action to restart.
No one can tell what they were discussing but speculation has run rampant: were they planning to ditch their teams and join one together, or were they complaining about their teammates, or were they simply talking about their plans after the game?
None of that is clear but it does seem like Durant and Lowry were having a very serious heart-to-heart.
Both men have lots to speak about.
The Season Ahead for Durant & Lowry
Both Durant and Lowry have tons to prove in the new season.
We all know how important 2022-23 will be for Durant, who just suffered a lackluster postseason and then a really dramatic offseason that saw him demanding a trade from his team.
As for Lowry, his first season with the Heat was disappointing and saw him reaching career lows in many ways – he is intent on turning things around and making the Miami fanbase proud.
Both of these players have been terrific all of their careers but the upcoming season is a chance to get back to levels they haven’t shown in some time.
