The Brooklyn Nets organization has been through a lot over the past three years or so.
They hoped that signing Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving would finally propel them back to NBA championship contention, but a lot has transpired ever since.
There was a power struggle with coach Steve Nash, Irving was rarely available, James Harden suddenly forced his way off of the team, Durant got hurt, and Ben Simmons didn’t even play.
Jacque Vaughn was in charge of making the most of whatever was left of the team after Durant and Irving were traded, and the results were predictably bad.
Now, as they sit twelve games below .500, the team officially decided to part ways with him during the All-Star break.
According to a report by Ian Begley of SNY, several players had lost faith in their coach, and they felt like having him out there would hurt their chances of getting a top player in free agency.
Nets say they have fired head coach Jacque Vaughn. Several players had lost confidence in Vaughn amid Nets’ struggles, per SNY sources. Some within Nets had concerns that Vaughn could hinder their chances at landing a top player, SNY sources say.

Looking back, the Durant-Irivng era in Brooklyn left nothing but mayhem behind them.
They failed to recoup assets as valuable as their star players, and they just don’t have enough talent in their ranks to compete at the highest level.
