The whole NBA world was abuzz when the Brooklyn Nets traded for Ben Simmons.
After all the drama and headlines, Simmons finally found a new home in the league and there was speculation that he could finally be back on the floor proving his power again soon.
But, he has still yet to play a game this season even with his new team.
Because of a back injury, Simmons has been sitting on the sidelines since he got traded in February.
Now there is speculation that he might be able to play a “couple” of regular-season games before the playoffs start.
This nagging injury is keeping Simmons from his team but it shouldn’t be a huge shock because he’s been injured many times before.
4 documented cases of Simmons and a back issue prior to the 2021-22 season.
In Feb. 2020, Simmons missed 9 games because of a nerve impingement in his lower back.
He returned in early March and did not have a reoccurrence until back tightness/lower pain last May (2021). https://t.co/Q2lOiILMm9

As pointed out by Bobby Marks on Twitter, Simmons has experienced four documented cases of prior back issues before this season.
Surely, the Nets were aware of this problem but does it change their hopes for the future of the player and the team?
Simmons Strong
Make no mistake, the Nets still have a lot of faith in Simmons.
Many people lost interest in him after his horrible postseason with the 76ers last year but those games didn’t do justice to what the player is capable of.
He had a lot of problems during his time with Philadelphia but he’s a very strong, young, promising guy.
He is especially powerful when it comes to defense and that’s really what the Nets want from him.
They see him as the missing piece that could make their team strong on both sides of the court.
Brooklyn is aware they won’t get Simmons right away but they believe that the wait will be worth it.
