There has been a lot of talk about Kyrie Irving of the Brooklyn Nets recently and, honestly, not a lot of it has been good.
Lately, he has been making headlines for the wrong reasons: they have mostly revolved around his resistance to the COVID vaccine and all the headaches that caused and then his possible desire to leave the Nets and head west to the Los Angeles Lakers.
People have called Irving odd, disloyal, selfish, and more.
But many Brooklyn fans have ignored all of that and have instead focused on the facts about Irving.

And the fact is that Irving is one heck of a good NBA player.
A video tweeted by the NBA showed all of his talents on display.
Again and again, during the 2021-22 season, Irving was moving around the court like a true pro, finding solid buckets, weaving past the competition, and showing the handles he has.
Yes, he comes with a lot of baggage but there are few guards like Irving, and many Nets fans are well aware of that.
King Kyrie
During last season, he averaged 27.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 5.8 assists a game.
Those are great numbers but no one really mentions them when speaking of Irving.
Instead, the dark shadows of his controversies hang heavy over every conversation about Irving.
If you put all of that aside, Irving is a supremely talented, smart, and experienced basketball star.
There is a reason that he’s a seven-time All-Star.
Nets fans are hoping that the current situation surrounding Irving – and Kevin Durant – settles down so they can both focus on what matters most: winning.
There is true greatness with Irving and there always has been but it’s sometimes hard to see.
