The Memphis Grizzlies’ season might have come to an early end.
Ja Morant’s suspension and subsequent absence is a major blow for this team and one that they might not be able to recover from.
Morant was handed a two-game suspension after flashing a gun during an Instagram Live session.
Then, he claimed that he was going to work on his mental health and how to cope with stress, citing that he would be away from the team indefinitely.
Colorado PD didn’t find conclusive evidence in their investigation of the incident, so he wasn’t criminally charged.
However, he recently checked in on a facility in Florida to get counseling and work his way back to the court.
Notably, it might take a while before we see him on the hardwood again.
According to NBA insider Marc Spears, Morant is dealing with a lot of off-court issues right now, and he went as far as to predict that he won’t come back at all this season.
"There's things I'm hearing that I'd rather probably not say on this podcast… My guess now is that he doesn't play the rest of the season."

Spears explained that some of the things he’s heard are things he’d rather not say in a podcast, adding that he’s legitimately worried about Ja as a person, not a basketball player.
Being rich and famous doesn’t mean someone isn’t a human being, and we all have to deal with a lot of stuff outside our professional lives.
Hopefully, Morant will get the help he so clearly needs and will be back mentally and emotionally stronger.
The game, the fans, and his team most definitely miss him.
