The Memphis Grizzlies have been without both Marcus Smart and Desmond Bane for weeks now and, sadly, their roster will remain without them for a bit longer.
On Friday morning, the Grizzlies announced a couple of updates for the two stars on Twitter.
Smart is still recovering from a left finger/hand injury and was recently re-evaluated with plans to wear a splint for another three weeks.
After those three weeks, he will be evaluated again.
As for Bane, he is progressing from a Grade 3 left ankle spring that he suffered on January 12 during a game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
It is expected that he will be playing again in three to five weeks.

Both Smart and Bane were playing important parts for the team before they were taken out by their injuries.
Smart is averaging 14.5 points and 4.3 assists while Bane is recording 24.4 points, 5.3 assists, and 4.6 rebounds.
This year has been filled with a number of shockingly tough injuries for the Grizzlies.
That is one of the reasons why the team is currently just 20-36 and sitting as the 13th seed in the Western Conference.
Because their chance of making the playoffs is nearly gone, it wouldn’t be too surprising if neither of these players came back this year.
They might just sit the rest of 2023-24 out along with Ja Morant, who has a season-ending injury after only playing for a few games.
Most fans assumed that this season was going to be a rough one for the Grizzlies but it’s been even worse than expected.
Hopefully, Smart and Bane are able to continue healing and they can ensure that next season looks radically different from this one.
