The Brooklyn Nets currently have a 1-2 record which isn’t exactly the sort of start that fans of the team wanted.
However, many people expected the start of the season to be difficult for Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and the squad because they were given a pretty tough schedule by the NBA.
They started the season against the New Orleans Pelicans (loss), then went onto the Toronto Raptors (close win), and then faced down the Memphis Grizzlies (loss).
That last defeat wasn’t too surprising but one statistic about it was: both Durant and Irving scored 37 points against the Grizz.
If KD and Kyrie are both dropping 30+ points and still LOSING, then something else is the problem

Throughout Twitter, fans were shocked by the fact that these guys could both put up almost 40 points and the team could still lose.
As one person put it, “If KD and Kyrie are both dropping 30+ points and still LOSING, then something else is the problem.”
That’s a very fair point – and one that is troubling the team’s front office as the season goes on.
Good, But Not Good Enough
This is a problem similar to the one facing the Los Angeles Lakers: even with LeBron James putting up incredible numbers, the team is still failing.
It shouldn’t happen this way, fans are saying.
And they’re not wrong.
During the loss against Memphis, Durant and Irving were the top scorers by far.
Nic Claxton put up 16 but he was the only other Brooklyn player in double digits.
A team cannot win if two players are carrying such a heavy load on their own.
It doesn’t help that many of the other guys on the team aren’t producing a lot but Ben Simmons‘ repeated ejections due to fouls are hurting too.
The Nets have two of the best players alive – but these guys need help.
