Everyone is taking notice of Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant lately, especially after the red-hot night he had on Monday when he scored a franchise-record 52 points and was the most dominant force on the floor for all 48 minutes.
One of the people who was blown away by Morant’s epic night was NBA legend Allen Iverson.

On Monday night, Iverson tweeted an image of the NBA MVP trophy with Morant’s jersey with the caption: “Sooner or Later!!!”
Shortly thereafter, Morant tweeted a photoshopped image of himself next to Iverson with the phrase: “pass the torch OG.”
You can consider the torch officially passed because Morant is definitely one of the most incredible young guys playing in the association this year.
Masterful Morant
Morant has been great since he first joined the league two seasons ago.
However, this season he is on a whole other level and has reached heights that other NBA players only dream of.
He is recording a fantastic 27.6 points, 6.6 assists, and 5.9 rebounds a game.
He’s also putting up 1.6 three-pointers and 1.2 steals per contest too.
Beyond the stellar numbers he’s creating, Morant is lightning-quick and a wonderful passer and play-maker.
Morant is leading his team, in points and in enthusiasm and leadership.
It is not surprising to see Iverson so impressed by the young man, who won Rookie of the Year in 2019-20.
Iverson himself knows a thing or two about winning MVP, which he claimed once.
He also was an 11-time All-Star and four-time scoring champion during his time in the league.
With the way he’s been playing lately, there is a good chance that Morant himself will be claiming some of those titles as well.
