In just a few short years, Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies has become an NBA superstar.
The young player has done a whole lot since joining his up-and-coming squad.
He was Rookie of the Year, an All-Star, and All-NBA Second Team.
Beyond that, he was also awarded the trophy for NBA Most Improved Player and was given a five-year extension that will earn him at least $193 million.
He was also a part of a documentary series about his rookie year, has become an inspiration for rap stars, and has signed some huge deals with companies like Nike.
Ja Morant turns 23 today.

Oh, and Morant is just 23 years old.
As Morant celebrates his latest birthday, it’s time to really reflect on what he’s done for himself, for his team, and for the future of the league.
Monster Morant
There was talk of him possibly earning MVP last season.
In the end, it wasn’t meant to be but there is no doubt that he will be in the running for the prize often in the years ahead.
Morant is a threat in so many ways.
He can shoot the ball like one of the best guards around but he’s also incredibly defensive and isn’t afraid of chasing down just about any possession.
He blocks, he rebounds, he shoots – he will find a place for himself anywhere on the court.
Plus, he’s just very fun to watch and has a personality that shines.
His status in the league has exploded over the last couple of seasons and now he’s one of the most beloved – and hated – players in the NBA.
If he keeps playing as he has, he will only get bigger and will soon be a household name across the country.
