The Minnesota Timberwolves made a big statement last night.
They held onto the No. 1 spot in the Western Conference by getting a huge win over the Los Angeles Clippers, arguably the best team in the league right now.
The Clippers led by four points at the half before the Timberwolves stormed back with a 40-19 third quarter, and they never took their foot off the gas.
That’s why, following the loss, coach Tyronn Leu called his players out by stating that they need to be more consistent throughout the course of the entire game (Via Bally Sports West).
“We have to be more consistent,” Lue said.

Of course, it’s hard to complain about the Clippers or claim that they haven’t been consistent, as they have held the best record in the NBA since December 1.
Nonetheless, they’ve also dug themselves into some big holes during that span, and while they have been able to fight their way back into games and get some wins, that’s not going to get the job done against winning teams.
The Timberwolves continue to prove that their early-season success has been no fluke.
They’ve beaten some of the best teams in the Western Conference, and they’ve proven that they should never be counted out of any game.
Anthony Edwards continues to blossom right before our eyes, proving to be one of the new faces in the league and a superstar in the making.
Also, the Karl-Anthony Towns-Rudy Gobert pairing has finally meshed perfectly, and this team will be a big problem come playoff time.
