The Seattle Seahawks drafting DK Metcalf in 2019 helped Russell Wilson.
However, the former Super Bowl champion quarterback is no longer with the team.
A trade by the Seahawks would send Wilson to Denver in exchange for draft picks and players.
Seattle made out like a bandit.
They got two first-round picks, two second-round picks, a fifth-round pick, and three players from Denver from the deal.
Now there is a possibility the team trades away Metcalf.
However, their asking price is steep.
In this, from @BradyHenderson: Seahawks want “something in the neighborhood of two firsts as the minimum” for DK Metcalf. https://t.co/AJXN4bRB7p

A trade also makes no sense for the Seahawks.
Seahawks Asking Price Is Too Much
Seattle might have seen other teams getting great deals for top receivers and want the same with Metcalf.
However, Metcalf isn’t an elite receiver.
He has solid numbers from past seasons.
But those numbers don’t tell the full story.
The numbers show him having 75 receptions for 967 yards and 12 touchdowns last season.
However, he was targeted 129 times during the season, meaning 54 passes were dropped or uncatchable.
In comparison, Davante Adams had 123 receptions on 169 targets, totaling 46 dropped or uncatchable passes.
Adams is a better receiver and was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders for less than what Seattle wants for Metcalf.
It would be crazy for any team to trade two first-round picks talks for Metcalf.
However, Seattle wanting to trade Metcalf could mean something else.
Trading Metcalf Means Seattle Is In Full Rebuild Mode
While Metcalf isn’t the greatest receiver, he is solid to have on your roster.
With that said, trading him away only means that Seattle wants all new talent on their roster.
It signals a complete rebuild for the offense.
A trade also puts any hopes of any playoff chances in jeopardy.
The Seahawks could use what they got from the Wilson trade to build a team this year and next year.
However, without Metcalf, they wouldn’t have much on offense to stay in playoff contention.
Would Metcalf Be Better Served With A New Team?
While a trade might not make much sense for Seattle, it might make sense for Metcalf.
I thought dk was a beast early in his career, but he started arguing with Russ and he’s now suspect. Russ left a team he won a Super Bowl with and I think part of it has to do with dk. Metcalf’s stats last year are ok but he disappeared in games. He needs a new qb and a new place

Arguments with your quarterback don’t help the team or yourself when playing.
However, Wilson is gone, but Seattle doesn’t have a top-tier quarterback under center.
If a trade deal happens with Metcalf, it can give him a fresh start.
It might be the restart that his career needs.
There are plenty of teams that need a solid receiver for their team.
He can provide any team that trades for him that solid receiver they desire.
Who Should Trade For Metcalf?
While many teams need a receiver, only one team needs a receiver more than any other team.
That team is the Green Bay Packers.
After trading away the best receiver in the NFL, and losing others to free agency, the Packers are thin at receiver.
The only main stay the team has for quarterback Aaron Rodgers is Randall Cobb.
However, Cobb will be 32 when the 2022 season starts.
Metcalf would give Rodgers a younger proven receiver to help them stay in the playoff hunt.
