The Seattle Seahawks have had one of the NFL’s best defenses for several years.
While their offense hasn’t necessarily been top-tier throughout this run, Pete Carroll ran a tight ship, which led to a lot of success on the defensive side of the ball.
However, Carroll is not the Seahawks’ coach anymore, which means this team will look significantly different in 2024 than in 2023.
The Seahawks will not only have a new head coach heading into the year, but they could be without one of their key defenders, a player who has been a big reason for their success lately.
Ian Rapoport has recently indicated that Bobby Wagner will likely test free agency, and in his eyes, it is unlikely that Wagner will return to the team.
All-Pro and Pro Bowl LB Bobby Wagner is expected to test the market, and it’s currently viewed as unlikely that he returns to the #Seahawks, source said. Coming off a career-high 183 tackles, Wagner joins a talented off-the-ball LB group in free agency.

Wagner has played for the Seahawks for most of his career.
He made a quick, one-season pit stop with the Los Angeles Rams in 2022 but re-joined the team in 2023.
Since he will be 34 years old when the 2024 season begins, Wagner could be in search of a new team, one that he believes gives him the best chance to win a Super Bowl ring.
The Seahawks could certainly be the team to make this happen, although they are a long shot to win the title at this point in the offseason.
There are a lot of unknowns surrounding this team heading into a new season, including how Mike Macdonald will run this team in his first year as their new coach.
Will Wagner end up sticking around to see how it all plays out?
