Noah Syndergaard Had The Best Reaction To Being Traded

The Philadelphia Phillies were one of the most active teams before the trade deadline on Tuesday.

They were able to secure the services of a top pitcher, as they welcomed Noah Syndergaard from the Los Angeles Angels.

To get him, they had to part with prospects Mickey Moniak and Jadiel Sanchez.

“Thor” is not the ace he used to be in his New York Mets days, but is a welcomed addition, nonetheless, as he has shown this year that he can still get big leaguers out.

The right-hander had a cool reaction on Twitter after learning about his new destination.

“Well, this is awkward”, he tweeted, with a hilarious video.

Back when he was with the Mets, he once “stole” the Phillie Phanatic’s car when the Phillies’ mascot was distracted doing something else.

Upon noticing his vehicle was not there and Syndergaard going away with it, the Phanatic started chasing him but fell.

It was extremely fun, and part of what makes the Phanatic one of the best mascots in baseball.

That’s why Syndergaard said it will be “awkward”, because there might be some “beef” between the two.

Of course, it’s all fun and games, although it will be interesting to see what the Phanatic does when he sees Syndergaard at their home ballpark.

The pitcher, who has a 3.83 ERA and 64 strikeouts in 80 innings this season, hasn’t shown the strikeout ability that made him an unquestioned ace up until 2019.

However, he should be ready to help Philadelphia fight for a postseason spot starting on Thursday, when he will take the mound against the lowly Washington Nationals for his first outing in a Phillies uniform.
