The All-Star break in MLB officially begins today, with no games on the schedule.
Instead of regular season contests, those who love baseball will get to see the most powerful sluggers in the league in the Home Run Derby.
The Philadelphia Phillies have their own representative in the Derby: outfielder Kyle Schwarber.
With 29 home runs in the first half, he is projected to eclipse his career high of 38, established in 2019.
Tonight, he will get to show the world he is one of the hitters with the most raw power in the world.
You know, it’s still June right?
According to the Phillies, it is!
“It’s June 48th. You know what that means: 8 P.M. @espn,” the Phillies official account tweeted this morning.

Schwarber Is Seriously Productive In June
As you probably know, Schwarber is an incredible June hitter, and it’s not just a myth.
The numbers say it is by far his best month over his career: he has a .959 career OPS in June, by far the highest mark in any month and besting the second-best, August (.888), by a considerable margin.
He has hit 47 home runs in June, also his best month.
Although Schwarber is a bit cold in his last seven games (.100/.100/.300 with no walks and 15 strikeouts), he has managed to hit two homers over that span.
For the season, he has an .820 OPS despite a low .208 batting average.
The walks have helped, sure, but his power is the main reason he has been so productive even with lots of strikeouts and a low average.
Phillies fans will be rooting for him tonight, as he will try to beat some of the best power hitters in the game to be crowned as the Home Run King.
