Each MLB offseason, it is fun to look at the teams that have spent the most money.
One consistency in baseball is that usually, the same teams are always at the top.
If you are one of the big-market teams, it is easier to spend loads of money on players.
That is why the top-spending teams are usually the most popular in the league.
According to Jeff Passan, the Los Angeles Dodgers are far and away the highest-spending team this offseason.
But the Philadelphia Phillies are second.

LA signed Shohei Ohtani to a $700 million contract.
There will not be another player that comes close to reaching a deal like that.
But, other teams should still look to spend money with plenty of very good free agents still available.
Last year’s NL Cy Young winner Blake Snell is still a free agent.
He is good enough to be a difference-maker in the rotation for any team.
Another name that will cost a lot of money is Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
He is looking at a deal in the $300 million range.
It will be interesting to see if the Dodgers cross the $1 billion threshold or if other teams start to catch up.
LA has a strong interest in Yamamoto and plenty of other impact players.
One team people should look out for in free agency is the New York Yankees.
Just like the Dodgers, they are known for buying most of their players.
But, the Yankees have not spent a dollar in free agency so far.
Expect to see them active in free agency over the next few weeks.
