The Seattle Seahawks were able to make the playoffs this season, despite the negativity surrounding the team before the season.
After trading away Russell Wilson, many believed that the Seahawks were in a rebuild, especially given that they would be led by a career backup.
Geno Smith didn’t listen to any doubters.
Smith was able to find great success with the Seahawks last year and took home the Comeback Player of the Year award as a result.
Although his future with the Seahawks is undecided at this point, one NFL analyst has made his opinion very clear.
"I think they should re-sign and get to a long term deal with Geno. I don't think last year was a fluke."

Marcus Spears believes that the Seahawks should re-sign Smith, given the level of success that he was able to achieve last season.
Smith is currently a free agent, as he only signed a one-year contract with the Seahawks ahead of the 2022 season.
Many have pointed to the franchise tag as a potential option for the Seahawks, but Spears is under the impression that a multi-year contract is a way to go.
Many teams’ quarterback situation is up in the air.
The Las Vegas Raiders, New York Jets, New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons, and many others don’t have a viable quarterback on the roster.
Smith is a member of the Seahawks already.
The organization knows him, and they know what he can do.
For their sake, the easiest course of action is to sign Smith and can build their roster around him.
