Los Angeles Clippers fans have been waiting years to see their team compete at a high level and have a chance of winning a championship.
After many false starts, heartbreaking losses, and big changes, the team is now looking better than it has in ages.
Kawhi Leonard talked to Joey Linn after Monday night’s loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves and said that he thinks his team is very close to being ready for a championship.
“We’re right there. We’ve been winning games, as everybody has seen. There’s ways for us to get better. That’s what’s scary… Now is the time to turn it around,” Leonard said.
Asked Kawhi Leonard how close the Clippers are to a championship caliber team.

The Clippers have lost two of their last three games, which is a bit surprising considering the record they had before that.
Prior to being taken down by the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday, the Clippers had won 12 of their last 14 games.
They had defeated some tough teams too, such as the Oklahoma City Thunder and Boston Celtics.
Leonard admits that his team got off to a slow start at the beginning of the season.
Indeed, when James Harden first joined the Clippers, they lost six in a row.
But they quickly got things together and started to claim victory after victory.
Because of their hard work and incredible skills, the Clippers are now the third seed in the West and briefly climbed all the way to the top of the standings recently.
They are clearly a team that is playing much better than they have in a very long time and there is every reason to believe they could be championship contenders this year.
Of course, the rest of the West isn’t going down without a fight and the Clippers will need to stay healthy which has always been a problem for them.
But if the rest of the season looks like the last several months, the Clippers could finally go the distance.
