His involvement with the team saw him helping the franchise with the hiring of their new CEO, Kevin Warren.
With him being a factor behind the recent hiring of Warren, it shows how involved he still was with the franchise.
Even at 93-years-old, McKenna was still advising the Bears franchise with a high-level hiring.
While people outside the circle of the Bears fandom might not know McKenna, their fanbase knows how he was an influence with important decisions.
His involvement with the Warren hiring was the last important move he made as a board member of the Bears.
While he was an important part of the Bears, most people remember him for being a director and chairman of McDonald’s.
McKenna’s life both began and ended in Illinois.
His roots in the city of Chicago began back in 1929, the year in which he was born.
Being a native to Chicago since birth gave him significant pull with businesses and people there.
Because of this, he’s been a huge part of the Bears franchise and the businesses in the Chicago area.
His work as a director for several other Chicago businesses, like the Lyric Opera of Chicago, have helped Chicago.
With his involvement now gone, it’s not just the Bears who are mourning the loss of McKenna.
