The Chicago Bears have two important decisions to make in the coming days.
They hold two picks in the top 10 of the 2024 NFL Draft, No. 1 and No. 9.
While the Bears are likely to draft Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick, their choice at 9 might not be as straightforward.
The Bears have several needs on their team if they want to improve, including the offensive line, a position that has several highly-touted players in this year’s draft.
Many analysts have also suggested that the Bears should draft a receiver and help a quarterback like Williams succeed right away.
Regardless of what position the Bears should go after, Brian Baldinger appeared on NFL Total Access, where he had a firm statement for the team.
“Don’t be cute, don’t try to make the album cover, let the player become the album cover. Draft the best player,” Baldinger said.

He believes that the best option for the Bears is to take the best player available with their No. 9 pick and that they shouldn’t get distracted by any draft night chaos.
There is a growing belief that the Bears could take the next step in 2024 by drafting the right players, but who those players will be remains to be seen.
Some have also suggested the Bears should move back from No. 9 and acquire more draft capital, but again, Baldinger believes they should stay put and go with the best player on the board.
