While everyone is talking about what teams like the Commanders, Patriots, Broncos, Vikings, and Raiders are going to do at quarterback in the draft, the Chicago Bears seemingly already have their guy.
USC’s Caleb Williams is expected to go No. 1 overall to Chicago in a slam-dunk selection.
Former NFL offensive lineman and Super Bowl champion Willie Colon had this to say Monday morning about Williams on Fox Sports’s The Carton Show:
“He’s going to be a national quarterback for the NFL…When you put on the tape, the guy is a generational talent…The scrutiny he’s going to deal with, can he handle that, along with the expectations for himself?”

Being a Heisman Trophy winner and a No. 1 pick is one thing.
But being all of that and getting drafted by a team that hasn’t had a great quarterback in seemingly forever is just different.
For years, the Bears have gotten tortured by Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers, and now Jordan Love.
Jared Goff is a top-level quarterback in the NFC for the Lions now too.
GM Ryan Poles desperately needs Williams to be a superstar if the franchise wants to avoid another 4-5 years of mediocrity.
Remember, the team traded former first-round pick Justin Fields to the Steelers this offseason to clear the way for Williams.
They also brought in some new weapons in Pro Bowl receiver Keenan Allen and running back D’Andre Swift.
With D.J. Moore already there too, Williams should have all he needs to try and uplift Bears fans everywhere by turning the trajectory of the franchise around.
