Who could forget the draft day video of Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf?
After being passed on in the 2019 NFL Draft, Metcalf finally had his name called with the last pick of round two.
The former Ole Miss standout repaid the trust Seattle gave him by offering his best performance in every season.
In his rookie season, he had 900 yards and seven touchdowns.
He followed it up with 1,303 yards and ten touchdowns in his sophomore year.
Last season, Metcalf had 967 yards and a career-high 12 touchdowns.
He has also played three postseason games with the Seahawks, finishing with 315 yards and three touchdowns.
In return, the Seahawks gave him a three-year, $72 million extension.
To give Seattle their money’s worth, Metcalf would have wanted to play more during their preseason game against the Chicago Bears.

Metcalf said, “I want to go back out there and finish the game or just at least finish the quarter but he didn’t let me. So, me and him are kind of on bad terms right now.”
However, the chuckle at the end of Metcalf’s statement means that the “rift” is in good nature.
Of course, head coach Pete Carroll is just protecting one of his top players to keep him ready for the regular season.
What’s Next For Metcalf?
It would help if Metcalf can develop chemistry with whoever the Seahawks’ starting quarterback will be.
For now, it’s a toss-up between Geno Smith and Drew Lock.
However, Smith might have the upper hand because Lock contracted COVID and might be out for a while.
Metcalf will be the prized target of whoever gets the starting role.
Developing chemistry with that guy will give them higher winning odds.
