The final few months of any NBA season are extremely important in determining the success of a team.
After all, at this point in the season, the fatigue of the regular season starts catching up to players, and fans see several injuries to key members of organizations.
Keeping that in mind, the Los Angeles Clippers had to face such a situation during their matchup against the Washington Wizards.
Veteran point guard Russell Westbrook fractured his left hand while trying to steal the ball from Jordan Poole during the second quarter of the game.
After the game, head coach Tyronn Lue shared his views on the incident, via Joey Linn on Twitter.
“He’s gonna stay engaged regardless. That’s just who he is. We need him around. We need his energy,” Lue said.

Lue is confident that despite being injured, Westbrook will stay engaged with the team from the sidelines.
Lue believes that the Clippers will benefit from the energy that Westbrook naturally brings, and he can still play the role of a vocal leader for the team.
The veteran coach finished by wishing the former NBA MVP a speedy recovery.
As of now, there is no update on when will Westbrook return to the team.
However, fans should get a clearer picture in a couple of days once the Clippers complete the primary medical examination of the 35-year-old.
Apart from his presence on the court, the Clippers will also miss his 11.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game.
With Paul George being in and out of the lineup due to injuries as well, the Clippers have a tough few weeks ahead of them.
