The NFL offseason head coach hiring cycle continues to roll along even as the playoffs progress.
Teams can’t interview coaching candidates who are still in the playoffs until three days after their Wild Card matchup, but that won’t stop them from requesting to speak with their top choices.
The Tennessee Titans, who let head coach Mike Vrabel go earlier this offseason, have requested a lot of coaches already and just added current Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Brian Johnson to their candidate pool, per Ian Rapoport.
The #Titans requested to interview #Eagles OC Brian Johnson for their vacant HC opening, source said. That interview should happen at some point after his team plays today, along with Bobby Slowik, Dan Quinn, Aaron Glenn and Ben Johnson and potentially others.

Johnson was a hot name a season ago as the Eagles’ quarterbacks coach for Jalen Hurts and was promoted to offensive coordinator after Shane Steichen left for the Indianapolis head coaching job this past offseason.
While he and the Eagles offense started off well this season, everything came crashing down in the second half of the year as Hurts and the entire offense couldn’t consistently put up points.
The Eagles have had a lot of coordinators leave for head coaching gigs recently, as Steichen and 2023 defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon both took head jobs this past offseason.
Johnson is a young candidate at just 36 years old, so while he may not have the best candidacy right now because of how the Eagles look, he could be seen as more of a developmental coach for a Titans team looking to rebuild in the coming years with rookie quarterback Will Levis.
