The Denver Nuggets were in desperate need of a big spark.
With Nikola Jokic, Aaron Gordon, and Jamal Murray out with injuries, they were 11-point underdogs ahead of their visit to the Los Angeles Clippers.
That’s when Reggie Jackson had a performance for the ages, dominating in perhaps the best game of his career to remind the Clippers of what they could have right now.
The backup guard exploded for 35 points to go along with 13 assists, two steals, five rebounds, and three three-pointers on 78/50/75 shooting splits.
However, this wasn’t a revenge game for him.
Instead, he told Justin Russo that he’ll always have some Clipper blood running through his veins, so while he may have been inspired to be at his best on Monday night, it was not about sticking it to his former team.
“I’ll always have some LA Clipper blood running through my veins.”
Reggie Jackson, aka ‘Big Government’, reminisced about his time with the Clippers after delivering a career-best performance to send them to another embarrassing loss.

Notably, Jackson struggled to find his footing in the league.
He showed signs of promise early in his career and even looked ready to break out when he left the Oklahoma City Thunder.
He couldn’t keep that rhythm up and it became evident that he was better suited to be a backup, and he’s fared much better ever since.
Jackson had the best years of his career before taking his talents to Mile High in a trade last season, and it’s more than evident that he hasn’t forgotten about his days in Southern California.
Who knows? Perhaps somewhere down the line, he could return to the team before his playing days are over and retire as a Clipper.
