The 2011 World Series between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Texas Rangers was legendary, and it included one of the best Game 6s in history.
But before Game 6, there was a Game 3, and during that single ballgame, Albert Pujols (who is returning home to St. Louis) wrecked havoc on the Rangers’ pitching staff.
MLB on FOX, via Twitter, remembered that game, in which Pujols hit three home runs against the Rangers’ pitching.
“Flashback to when Albert Pujols hit 3 HR in Game 3 of the 2011 World Series,” they tweeted, with the video of the three dingers.

Pujols is now a shell of his former self, but remains productive against left-handed pitching.
Back then, however, he was a beast, competing for the “best right-handed hitter in baseball” title with Detroit Tigers’ slugger Miguel Cabrera.
Pujols Lifted The Cards To The Title
It was a truly impressive display of power: the first home run of that game left the field in a hurry, as it was a screaming liner to left field.
The second blast was to left-center field, and the third one looked a lot like the first one.
Pujols hit .299/.366/.541 that year, with 37 home runs, 105 runs, and 99 RBI in 147 regular season games, but clearly took it up a notch in the postseason.
Thanks in part to his potent bat, the Cardinals were able to win their first World Series title since 2006 that year.
Pujols left for the Los Angeles Angels after that season, but after 11 years, he is returning to St. Louis, likely to close his career in front of the fans that truly love him.
He gave the city two World Series trophies and a lot of memories over the years.
