The St. Louis Cardinals are hoping to have a bounce-back year in 2024.
They have the players necessary to achieve that goal, but they need everyone to elevate their play.
St. Louis has made a few interesting changes to their roster.
One move they made was bringing back a former star player.
The Cardinals signed Matt Carpenter to a one-year deal and according to the team on Twitter, they are thrilled to have Carpenter back in the fold for 2024.

Carpenter played the first 11 seasons of his career with the Cardinals.
He made three All-Star teams during that time and even had a fourth-place MVP finish.
Now at the age of 38, not much should be expected from Carpenter in 2024.
He will be a part-time player and a solid bat off the bench.
As for the Cardinals, the NL Central is wide open for them in 2024.
The Milwaukee Brewers won the division last season but they got worse during the offseason.
Many betting sites have the Cardinals as the favorites to win the division.
But, the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds should both be serious competitors.
Both teams are full of talent and could very easily make a run at the division title.
St. Louis is the most experienced team in the division and the season they had last year was unacceptable.
They won 71 games and were under .500 for the first time since 2007.
Players like Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado, and Carpenter will have to lead this locker room.
The Cardinals have a good mix of veterans and young players.
This team should be much better in 2024.
