The 2022 MLB season culminated with the Houston Astros winning the World Series against the Philadelphia Phillies in six games.
The World Series itself had some instant classics, like Games 1 and 6.
The Phillies’ clincher against the San Diego Padres in the NL Championship Series, the one with Bryce Harper‘s go-ahead home run against Robert Suarez, was also thrilling and popular among fans.
MLB Network, however, has named the best game of the season.
When you remember which one was picked as the winner, a smile will probably appear on your face…unless you are a Toronto Blue Jays fan.
“THE #1 GAME OF THE 2022 SEASON?! The @Mariners coming back from a 7-run deficit to eliminate the Blue Jays in Game #2 of the Wild Card Series!” MLB Network tweeted.

A Game For The Ages
It was Game 2 of the American League Wild Card Series.
The Seattle Mariners had already took Game 1 from the Jays in Rogers Centre, in Toronto, and were going for the sweep in Game 2.
The hosts took an 8-1 lead, however, and Kevin Gausman looked untouchable in the early going.
He started to falter eventually, but in retrospect, the Jays probably wish they had left him on the mound a bit longer.
Seattle then scored four runs in the sixth inning and four more in the eighth, and won it with a run in the ninth.
It was a shocking turn of events: Toronto’s bullpen wasn’t their best unit, but no one thought the Mariners would come back from a seven-run deficit to stun the home crowd and take the series.
The Mariners went on to advance to the AL Division Series, only to be swept by the Astros.
