As if the Field of Dreams Game wasn’t legendary enough, being played right where the classic movie was filmed in Dyersville, Iowa, baseball fans were treated to a surprising appearance by the late, great Harry Caray.
Of course, Caray is no longer with us, having passed away in 1998, but his appearance in last night’s game was via hologram by FOX Sports.
With the Chicago Cubs there for the game, it made it all the more fitting to have Caray show up.
The hologram of Caray led the crowd in singing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” at the seventh inning stretch.

The Field of Dreams was already filled with some old baseball magic, but FOX Sports did the unthinkable and treated baseball fans to an appearance by one of the best announcers to ever do it.
Caray would often lead the seventh inning stretch and sing the age-old song at Wrigley Field, which is a Cubs tradition.
But what better way to have the seventh inning stretch at the Field of Dreams game than to bring back Harry Caray.
The fans loved every minute of it and enjoyed seeing one of the greatest announcers of all time lead the seventh inning stretch at a classic baseball venue.
It was a night full of legendary moments, nostalgia, and above all, fun and excitement.
It was a nice celebration of the great game of baseball.
Caray knew baseball better than almost anybody and is a staple in the history of the sport.
His appearance last night was just the icing on the cake for fans who love baseball and were there to see a game played at a classic venue.
