Bryce Harper had several chances to go to the World Series as a member of the Washington Nationals, but it was ultimately the Philadelphia Phillies who got him there.
This will be the first time Harper has appeared in a World Series in his career.
Harper was signed by the Phillies prior to the start of the 2019 season.
He won the NL MVP Award last season, but had still yet to taste the postseason as a member of the Phillies.
On Twitter, MLB posted a funny meme showing Harper in Phillies gear for the first time when he was introduced and when he hit his epic home run in Game 5 of the NLCS on Sunday.

How It Started Vs. How It’s Going
What makes this even better is that on the day Harper was first introduced as a Phillie, he accidentally said that he wanted to “bring a title back to D.C.”
He was not fully accustomed to being a Phillie at that point.
But three years later, here he is in the World Series as a member of the Phillies.
He even picked up the big hit that sent Citizens Bank Park into a frenzy and got the Phillies over the hump.
While the Nationals won the World Series in 2019, the year he had his freudian slip, he now has a chance to actually bring a title back to Philadelphia, which is what he meant to say.
All it takes now is four more wins against the juggernaut Houston Astros, who are back in the World Series for the fourth time since 2017.
