The Seattle Mariners have been scuffling a bit lately, but they remain in possession of the sixth and last playoff spot in the always competitive American League.
They do need to start accumulating wins fans, though, because they still haven’t sealed their ticket to the playoffs.
At 83-69, Seattle is still 3.5 games ahead of the seventh-ranked team in the AL, the Baltimore Orioles.
The Orioles are the best team in the junior circuit without a playoff spot, which means they represent a threat to Seattle.
Of course, the Mariners have only themselves to blame for this situation because they are 3-7 in their last 10 games, allowing Baltimore to get close.
Playing without their biggest star Julio Rodriguez obviously doesn’t help – he is nursing a back injury at the moment – but they need to get back to their winning ways.
Sewald Wants A Packed T-Mobile Park
Seeing the situation, Mariners reliever Paul Sewald invited fans to fill out T-Mobile Park for their series against the Texas Rangers.
“Hey YOU! Yes you @mariners fans! We need you @TMobilePark this homestand to make The Electric Factory as loud as it’s ever been!” Sewald tweeted.

2021 AL Cy Young award winner Robbie Ray will be on the mound for the Mariners tonight, as they try to hold off the pesky Rangers.
Most teams still have between eight and nine games left in the regular season calendar, and while it would be highly unlikely that the Orioles have enough time to catch the Mariners, it’s still within the realm of possibilities.
The Mariners need to be very careful because the Orioles just won’t quit.
A win tonight would bring some much-needed peace to Seattle fans.
