The Los Angeles Lakers secured their very first victory a few days ago when they took down the Denver Nuggets in a strong 121-110 victory on Sunday.
Fans were elated to see Russell Westbrook finally playing well alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Still, there was worry that their joy would be short-lived and the Lakers would again fall apart a few days later when they took on the New Orleans Pelicans.
Instead, the team stayed strong on Wednesday and beat the Pelicans in an overtime thriller.
The Lakers still have a crummy 2-5 record but those two wins have come back-to-back.
I'm smiling after a Lakers game. What even is this feeling
— Anthony F. Irwin (@AnthonyIrwinLA) November 3, 2022
After two great games, fans of the team are feeling something they haven’t experienced in a long time: joy.
Anthony F. Irwin summed it up quite well on Twitter, saying, “I’m smiling after a Lakers game. What even is this feeling.”
Irwin isn’t the only one happy with the Lakers after a really rough patch.
But how long will this happiness last?
What’s Next For LA?
These last two wins have been encouraging for a number of reasons.
The biggest are that Westbrook looks good, James and Davis are playing well, and the supporting role players are stepping up.
And LA’s shooting has gotten better, although it’s still nowhere near where it needs to be.
Fans are going to be very scared for the foreseeable future.
After the hole the Lakers dug themselves into, fans of the team will always be convinced that things are about to get bad again.
The Lakers will need to secure quite a few more wins and each player will need to stay consistent to convince fans that the team can stay good.
