Justin Fields is the latest quarterback that the Chicago Bears will try out.
The team’s loyal fans hope that he will end their long-term struggles at the position which dates back to the late 1980s.
They are banking on his versatility to find success in the NFL.
Last season, he showed glimpses of that talent by finishing with 1,870 passing yards, 420 rushing yards, and nine total touchdowns.
But clips from their latest preseason game do not paint a promising picture.

NBC Sports’ Warren Sharp said, “Look at this series, Justin Fields under heat nonstop.”
Yes, he does have the speed to evade the incoming defensive players.
But at some point, those players will get to him and rob his opportunity to create plays.
It’s depressing to point out that the Bears’ offensive linemen offer little opposition against the Seattle Seahawks’ rushers.
Those defenders get cleanly off the line of scrimmage to chase Fields.
As a result, the quarterback has to make a play quickly which often leads to incompletions or broken plays.
Luckily for the Bears, they won that game against the Seahawks, 27-11.
However, the approach of the Bears’ offensive line won’t work against better opposition.
A Punishing Schedule Awaits
The Bears’ line should get their act together and provide better protection for Fields.
After all, they will be facing the punishing San Francisco 49ers defensive line in Week 1.
Also on their schedule are the New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins, and Dallas Cowboys.
They will also face the Philadelphia Eagles and the Buffalo Bills in the second half of the regular season.
Having that same performance against Seattle will not be enough to stop these elite teams from barging through the pocket.
