The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers have a storied rivalry.
While the Packers have “owned” the Bears lately, the team is looking to change this fate in 2023.
Their latest move is to try to take away another coach from the Packers.
Last season, the team hired Luke Getsy, the former quarterbacks coach for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.
However, they are now requesting permission to interview the Packers defensive backs coach Jerry Gray.
The Bears have requested permission to interview Packers defensive pass game coordinator/DBs coach Jerry Gray for an as-yet-undefined defensive coaching position.

Gray is the man behind the rise of several defensive backs during his coaching career.
When he was with the Minnesota Vikings, he helped Harrison Smith and Xavier Rhodes make improvements to their game play.
He’s also the man behind the rise of Jaire Alexander as a Pro Bowl-caliber corner in the NFL.
With the Bears having several young corners on their roster, they need someone who can help these players turn into stars.
Rookie defensive backs Jaquan Brisker and Kyler Gordon can both benefit from the knowledge Gray can bring to the Bears.
However, the team needs approval from the Packers to interview him.
They also have to compete against the Atlanta Falcons, who also want his services.
With his coaching career dating back several decades, he’s got a long list of success as a defensive coach.
He’s coached some of the best defensive backs in the NFL since he started his NFL coaching career in 1997.
Ever since then, he helped to develop some of the legendary defensive backs in NFL history.
With him on the Bears coaching staff, their defensive backs could see some major improvements.
