For St. Louis Cardinals fans, the wait is finally over.
Top prospect and star shortstop Masyn Winn is headed to the big leagues.
Winn has been hitting well at the minor league level, slashing .283/.356/.465 at Triple-A Memphis.
He has also hit 18 home runs and driven in 61 this year.
The wait is over for Cardinals fans, who have been clamoring to see their team’s top prospect.
He’ll join the team on Friday prior to their game against the New York Mets.
On Twitter, Cardinals writer John Denton revealed the news of Winn being called up from Triple-A and the corresponding move.
OF Lars Nootbaar (lower abdomen contusion) has been placed on the 10-day IL, per the club. SS Masyn Winn — the #STLCards top prospect — is being promoted for his MLB debut.

To make room for Winn, outfielder Lars Nootbaar has been placed on the 10-day injured list after fouling a pitch off his crotch on Wednesday against the Oakland Athletics.
The Cardinals have called it a “lower abdomen contusion.”
This marks the third time that Nootbaar has been placed on the injured list this season, which is a major concern for St. Louis.
However, Winn is finally going to get his shot to show the Cardinals what he is capable of.
The Cardinals season is all but lost as they enter play on Friday with a record of 54-68, which is the second-worst mark in the National League.
However, the good news is that Winn finally has a chance to show off his skills at the Major League level and give the team some hope heading into 2024.
Winn will join his friend Jordan Walker, who has taken over right field duties for St. Louis this year.
