Though the St. Louis Cardinals lost yet another tough game on Tuesday night against the Pittsburgh Pirates, their game was not devoid of some positive moments.
In the top of the fifth inning, Richie Palacios, who the team acquired from the Cleveland Guardians earlier this season, hit his first Major League home run.
That homer tied the score at a run apiece and it came just one night after Palacios’ brother Joshua had a big game for the Pirates.
Prior to Wednesday afternoon’s series finale against the Buccos, Palacios caught up with Jim Hayes of Bally Sports Midwest and discussed what it meant to him to not only hit his first big-league homer, but to do it against his brother’s team.
Richie Palacios on why his first career homer was extra special last night: "Yeah, first career home run is going to be special no matter what. But definitely doing against my brother makes it even more special and with my family there." #STLCards pic.twitter.com/nrUUWfKB8r

Palacios said his first home run was going to be a special moment, regardless of when it happened and who it happened against.
However, it was a little extra special for him to be able to do it against the Pirates and his brother.
Palacios said it was also extra special to have his family in attendance for the big moment.
Joshua hit a three-run homer on Monday night in the series opener.
Palacios pinch hit for Willson Contreras in the ninth inning and got a base-hit, but it was his brother who robbed Jose Fermin of an extra-base hit with a diving play to end the game.
However, the Palacios brothers and their family have certainly had a whirlwind week, with the two brothers facing off against one another.
