Paul Goldschmidt is best known for being the reigning National League MVP and being able to hit for power and average while also putting on a clinic at first base.
The veteran first baseman has four Gold Gloves and five Silver Slugger Awards to his name.
However, before the St. Louis Cardinals took on the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday for their series finale at PNC Park, Goldschmidt had a brief interaction with the mascot of the Pirates, “Pirate Parrot.”
As it turns out, Pirate Parrot has a massive baseball glove that he carries with him around PNC Park, and when he saw Goldschmidt warming up, he gave the Cardinals slugger a chance to play catch with it, via Bally Sports Midwest.

Ultimately, it didn’t affect Goldschmidt in any way, shape, or form.
Goldschmidt was able to catch baseballs without any trouble with Pirate Parrot’s massive glove.
The video in the tweet shows Goldschmidt slightly confused while trying to navigate the massive size of the glove.
However, it didn’t impede his abilities at all, and he was able to catch every ball that was thrown at him during pregame warmups.
Still, it would certainly take a lot of skill for anybody to be able to navigate a glove of that size.
Though Goldschmidt didn’t appear to have any trouble with it, it certainly is something that would take some getting used to.
Ultimately, Goldschmidt gave the glove back, but it’s certainly interesting to see him try to use it while warming up, and it made for a funny exchange between the slugger and the mascot.
