The St. Louis Cardinals have several players competing in the World Baseball Classic this spring.
Tommy Edman is competing with Team Korea, while Lars Nootbaar suits up for Team Japan.
Giovanny Gallegos joined Team Mexico, while Tyler O’Neill joined Team Canada, Genesis Cabrera joined the Dominican National Team, and Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado, Miles Mikolas, and Adam Wainwright committed to Team USA.
Young right-hander Andre Pallante has chosen to suit up for Team Italy, who pulled off the upset against Team Cuba in their first WBC game.
On Twitter, John Denton of MLB.com tweeted Pallante’s line from the game against Cuba.

The 24-year-old threw two scoreless innings for Team Italy, allowing just one hit and two walks on 25 pitches.
15 of those pitches he threw for strikes.
Pallante appeared in 47 games for the Cardinals last season, making 10 starts.
He mostly served as a long relief option out of the bullpen, but his best performance came as a starter on July 31, when he blanked the Washington Nationals over eight innings of work.
He went 6-5 and posted an ERA of 3.17 in 108 innings.
The young righty also posted a 1.417 WHIP and struck out 73 batters during the regular season.
His best stuff was on display during Italy’s matchup against Cuba, which should be encouraging for the team, as well as the Cardinals.
St. Louis didn’t add much pitching this offseason, but is loaded with depth in case a starting pitcher goes down.
This is where they could find use for Pallante, as he is able to serve as both a starter and a reliever.
