James Harden’s time with the Los Angeles Clippers didn’t get off to a promising start, with five consecutive losses and a flurry of questions about whether he was a good fit.
But the team has eased into the swing of things lately and has won five of their last seven games, including three in a row.
In the team’s last win against the Sacramento Kings, Harden posted 26 points and 6 assists, leading many to question if he was playing like his old self and showing fans who he really is.
Kendrick Perkins appeared on “First Take” and pushed back against that idea.
“We can’t applaud a fish for swimming,” Perkins bluntly said.
“I don’t trust James Harden, and I don’t think the rest of the league trusts James Harden,” Perkins added.

It is true that Harden is starting to look a lot better in a Clippers jersey but, as Perkins noted, there are still many concerns about his longevity and commitment.
Over the years, he has gained a reputation as a player who can do well during the regular season but then phone it in during the playoffs, seemingly out of energy and a desire to win.
His recent departure from the Philadelphia 76ers has also created other concerns that Harden may cut and run from the Clippers if things don’t go his way.
In other words, Perkins, people across the league, and certain Clippers fans are going to be concerned about Harden for a long time.
They have valid worries about him and one or two good games aren’t changing them.
If Harden hopes to subdue the unease revolving around him for good, he will have to keep playing well and do whatever it takes to help his team succeed.
