On Sunday, the St. Louis Cardinals and their fans enjoyed another day of Winter Warmup as they prepared for the start of a new season.
Adam Wainwright, entering the final season of his Major League career, made an appearance yesterday and talked about what he believes is in store for the team in 2023.
But before he spoke, he had some other business to take care of.
According to Katie Woo of The Athletic, the veteran right-hander asked if he could eat a brownie during his first presser of the year.
Wainwright immediately crushed the brownie and went on to state that he could potentially hit 25 home runs this year.
Adam Wainwright kicks off his first presser of 2023 by crushing a brownie at the podium and then immediately stating he could hit 25 homers this year, so yeah, it’s almost baseball season.

For all of his success and his drive to compete at the highest level, Wainwright certainly does have a great sense of humor, one that will be sorely missed when he officially retires.
The 41-year-old can do many things, and it appears that eating a brownie and claiming he can hit 25 home runs is one of them.
To be fair, the three-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion was never a bad hitter, and could occasionally pop a home run or two.
But one thing is clear.
The veteran right-hander is ready for baseball in 2023.
Not only will he have one more chance to win his third World Series ring as a member of the Cardinals, but he will also be competing in the World Baseball Classic this coming spring.
But what better way to kick off a season that to stuff a brownie?
Wainwright is ready to roll.
