Vladimir Guerrero Jr. The Early Favorite To Win One Batting Crown

Last season, it looked like Toronto Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. may have actually had a chance at the vaunted hitting Triple Crown.

He finished at or near the top of the league in three of the most revered offensive categories: batting average, home runs, and RBI.

Vladdy hit an outstanding 48 home runs, sharing the MLB lead with Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez.

One would think he has what it takes to make another run at the home run crown, just like he did last year.

FOX Bet Live loves Guerrero’s chances to repeat as the home run champion in 2022.

The Best Of The Rest

Pete Alonso of the New York Mets has the second-best odds to lead the league in round-trippers.

He hit 37 last year but his career-high of 53 and his annual showings in the Home Run Derby are enough to remind us about his raw power.

Two-way star Shohei Ohtani has the third-best odds one year after hitting 46 dingers in a historic season that also saw him post a 3.18 ERA from the mound.

Two members of the New York Yankees appear in the next three players: Aaron Judge at fourth and Joey Gallo at sixth, with Los Angeles Angels’ star Mike Trout sandwiched between them at number five.

In fact, another Yankee appears in the top 10: Giancarlo Stanton, at nine.

Guerrero may be competing for the unofficial “best overall hitter” in MLB with Juan Soto and Trout for at least several years.

He is a truly elite offensive performer, who slashed .311/.401/.601 last year with the aforementioned 48 blasts, 123 runs, and 11 RBI.

The best, however, may be yet to come for him.
