The Phoenix Suns are at a crossroads with their roster.
After going all-in this season to try and win a title the Suns were knocked out in the second round of the playoffs.
The mid-season addition of Kevin Durant did not change anything in the end.
One issue for the Suns was that point guard Chris Paul was once again hurt in the playoffs.
He missed Games 3-6, due to a strained groin.
It appears the Suns are ready to move on from him.
According to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon, via NBA Central, the Suns are expected to “aggressively” shop Paul this summer.

It’s ‘pretty likely’ that Chris Paul will be playing for a different team next season 😳

At this point in Paul’s career, it seems like he gets hurt every season.
He is no longer a player you can count on night in and night out.
Also, his play has fallen off now that he is in his late 30s.
Not many teams are going to be interested in an oft-injured Paul.
Especially because his contract is far from team friendly.
Paul has a partially guaranteed contract of $30.8 million due next season.
But only $15.8 million is guaranteed.
Still, it would be surprising for any team to want to take on that contract.
The Suns cannot enter a rebuild will Devin Booker and Durant on their roster.
So they must find a way to build a strong roster around those two players.
At this point, it would be a surprise to see Paul in Phoenix next year.
Even if that means the Suns have to eat some of his salary just to get rid of him.
